How we handle your information

This policy explains what information sanmarcoretreat.com collects, how it's used, and who it's shared with. It covers this website only — Airbnb, Vrbo, and Lodgify's own booking platform each have their own separate privacy policies.
Information you provide directly
If you use the contact form, we collect your name, email, phone number (if given), preferred dates, party size, and message. If you request the Lowcountry Retreat Guide or enter a giveaway, we collect your email and, for the giveaway, your name and phone number and your email or text-message choices. Forms also record how you arrived (for example the campaign link you clicked, the first page you visited, and the site that referred you). Submissions are sent through our own server to our customer relationship system (GoHighLevel) so we can respond, deliver the guide, run the giveaway, and, if you opt in, send occasional notes from the retreat. We do not sell this information.
Booking information
Reservations run through Lodgify, our booking platform. Anything you enter into the booking or search widgets on this site — dates, guest counts, payment details — is collected and processed directly by Lodgify under its own privacy policy, not by us. We only receive the reservation details needed to host your stay.
Analytics and cookies
We use a small number of tools to understand how visitors use this site: Cloudflare Web Analytics (cookieless, no personally identifiable information collected), Google Analytics (uses cookies to measure page views and traffic sources), and Microsoft Clarity (uses cookies to record anonymized session behavior and heatmaps). These are used to improve the site, not to identify you personally. Some of these tools load a moment after the page opens, or after you first interact with it. Advertising tools are described separately below.
Advertising and the Meta Pixel
This site uses the Meta Pixel, a tool from Meta (Facebook and Instagram). It uses cookies and similar technologies to record visits and actions such as viewing a page or submitting a form, along with technical details such as your IP address and browser or device information. We use it to measure how our ads perform and to show our ads to people who have visited the site. When you submit a form, we send Meta an event that says a form was completed, not the contents of what you wrote. Meta receives and uses this information under its own privacy policy. You can control ad personalization in your Facebook and Instagram ad settings and block or delete cookies in your browser.
Spam protection and Cloudflare
Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell real visitors from automated bots. Turnstile runs a short check in your browser and Cloudflare receives information such as your IP address and browser and device signals to make that decision, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. We use it only to protect our forms. This site is also delivered and secured through Cloudflare, which processes standard request data such as IP addresses.
How we use information
Information collected through this site is used to respond to inquiries, process and manage reservations, run giveaways, deliver requested guides, protect the site from spam, measure and improve the website and our advertising, and, where you've opted in, send occasional guides, offers or updates about the retreat. We do not sell or rent personal information to third parties.
Third-party links
This site links to third parties such as Airbnb, Vrbo, Lodgify, and various local businesses and attractions. We aren't responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.
Children's privacy
This site isn't directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
Mobile information and text messages
If you give us your mobile number and check the separate text-message box on the giveaway form, we may text you about the giveaway and future offers from The Retreat at San Marco. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-message opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties for their own marketing. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to cancel and HELP for help. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of entering the giveaway or of any purchase.
Your choices
You can decline the guide/updates opt-in on the contact form at any time, unsubscribe from any email using the link in it, and reply STOP to any text. You can control cookies through your browser's settings, and limit ad personalization in your Facebook and Instagram ad settings. To request that we delete information you've submitted through our forms, reach out using the email below.
