Genuine quiet, easy water, live oaks overhead
We chose this spot in Spanish Hammock for a reason. It's a quiet residential pocket on the north end of Tybee — no boardwalk crowds, no rental towers — where the Lowcountry does what it does best and slows you down.
Three-story elevated coastal home with a metal roof, seafoam-green board siding, and a distinctive triple arched window wall — a porch out front, framed by live oaks, a few steps from Lazaretto Creek.
Tybee has a way of slowing things down. We think that's the point.

The Crab Shack is practically a neighbor
Twenty minutes on foot, two by car. The lighthouse, North Beach, Fort Pulaski, and Savannah's squares are all close — and the marsh is closer.

0.8 mi · Currently closed for renovation — a longtime local favorite for Back River sunset views, worth checking again once it reopens.

Our stay at The Retreat At San Marco’s was wonderful! We would definitely stay again! It was spacious and clean and thoughtfully set up. We had a party of 12 and never felt crowded or intruding on each other's space. The hosts were very responsive and sweet. Everyone enjoyed the fiddler crabs in the backyard when tide went down and watching the Ospreys catch fish. The home is wonderfully situated between Savannah and the beaches on Tybee Island. We highly recommend to stay here if you are planning to visit the area!
Good to Know
Before you book
Minimum stay is 3 nights.
Dogs are welcome with advance approval — request before you book, and let us know how many, plus each dog's breed and weight. Limit two dogs, under 50 lbs each, with a $100 fee per dog. We do not accept cats. You're responsible for any damage a dog causes, and we reserve the right to decline a dog that isn't a good fit.
Check-in is 4pm, checkout is 10am. Early check-in and late checkout can each be requested for $25, based on availability. Minimum stay is 3 nights.
Cancellations must be made at least 30 days before check-in. For bookings made more than 2 months out, 50% is due at booking; inside 2 months, the full balance is due at booking.
The house is elevated with two sets of stairs and no elevator — it is not wheelchair accessible. It works well for families with kids, but may be difficult for guests with mobility limitations. Let us know your needs and we will help you plan.

We fell for Tybee Island's particular brand of quiet and bought the Retreat at San Marco to be the place we'd want to gather with our own family and friends — comfortable, well-kept, and unmistakably coastal.
